Originally from Syracuse, NY, I received my B.S. in Biology from Ithaca College working with Dr. Peter Melcher on bryophyte ecology and photosynthetic responses of plants to green light. At Cornell University, I worked with Dr. Thomas Owens investigating the impact of chloroplast movements on photo-protective responses of Arabidopsis mutants. I completed my PhD in Ecology with Dr. Alan Knapp at Colorado State University in Summer of 2019. My dissertation research focused on assessing the role of community functional composition in differential sensitivity of grasslands to drought. For my postdoctoral work, I've researched physiological mechanisms of plant invasions (Syracuse University) as well as macroecological patterns of grass traits (Santa Clara University). Beyond Research, I am passionate about science communication and undergraduate education.
